Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 ounces dry rice (cooked, or use 6 ounces uncooked instant rice, this is one cup rice)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 green bell peppers (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 1/3 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 jar (26 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (Italian cheese blend or your favorite)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. If using instant rice cook according to package directions.

  • Step 2: In a cast iron or ovenproof skillet over medium high heat cook the ground beef and vegetables (ground beef -onion) until meat is no longer pink and then stir in the next 3 ingredients (marinara sauce -seasoning) and then stir in the cheese.

  • Step 3: In a small bowl toss breadcrumbs with the oil and then sprinkle over the top of the casserole in skillet. Bake for 8-10 minute or until heated through and topping is golden.
