Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR GARDEN HERB RUB
  • 2 tablespoon thyme, chopped (fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon oregano, chopped (fresh)
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 20 ounces beef striploin steaks (boneless beef strip steaks, cut 1 inch thick, two 20 ounce each steak)
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare the rub: Combine the rub ingredients in a small bowl; reserve 2 teaspoons for garnish. Press rub mixture evenly onto steaks.

  • Step 2: Salt steaks; place on grill over medium,ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, for 11 to 14 minutes (or over medium heat on a preheated gas grill for 11 to 15 minutes) for medium rare (145°F) to medium (160°F) doneness, turning occasionally.

  • Step 3: Carve steaks into slices. Sprinkle with reserved rub.
