Step 1: Cut the loaf into 10 1-inch thick slices. Butter a 13x9 baking dish.
Step 2: Combine the brown sugar, melted butter and maple syrup. Pour into the baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with the chopped pecans.
Step 3: Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.
Step 4: Arrange the bread slices over the pecans in two rows. You can overlap a little if you need to. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours.
Step 5: To bake, preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately, spooning out some of the gooey deliciousness over each serving.
