The ingredients are:
  • 16 ounce bread loaf (one loaf of French bread)
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (pure)
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut the loaf into 10 1-inch thick slices. Butter a 13x9 baking dish.

  • Step 2: Combine the brown sugar, melted butter and maple syrup. Pour into the baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with the chopped pecans.

  • Step 3: Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.

  • Step 4: Arrange the bread slices over the pecans in two rows. You can overlap a little if you need to. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours.

  • Step 5: To bake, preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately, spooning out some of the gooey deliciousness over each serving.
