Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 to 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 pound baguette bread (Vienna, French, Portuguese, Italian, basically an oblong loaf of bread, get a good quality crusty old-world type)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (do no use the pre-grated stuff in the jar. Grate your own on a box grater)
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Slice the loaf of bread into (about) 1-inch thick slices and lay then flat on a cookie sheet. Put the butter into a small bowl. Peel the garlic cloves and crush or grate them into small pieces and mix into the butter. Spread each bread slice with enough garlic-butter to lightly coat the top.

  • Step 2: Turn oven on broil and place the cookie sheet with bread slices into the oven. Make sure to monitor the bread VERY CLOSELY closely as it will only take about 2-5 minutes before it develops a light brown crust on top. (Don't answer the phone, wash dishes, etc. because it can go to burnt in a second).

  • Step 3: When you can barely notice the toasty brown color, remove it from the oven and sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese and parsley then return to the oven. Again monitor the bread closely as it will take only about a minute to finish cooking to your preferred consistency. Remove and serve. Enjoy!!!
