Step 5: Stir buttermilk and milk in another bowl. Whisk remaining flour with cornmeal,cornstarch, baking powder, and seasoned salt in a third bowl
Step 6: Set aside.
Step 7: Heat oil until a deep-fry thermometer reads 350°.
Step 8: Drain onions and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 9: Working in batches
Step 10: Dredge onions in flour
Step 11: Shaking off excess
Step 12: Dip in milk
Step 13: And then in cornmeal mixture
Step 14: Fry, flipping once, until golden and crisp, 1–2 minutes.
Step 15: Drain rings on paper towels
Step 16: Sprinkle with more seasoned salt.
