  • 1 can(15.5-oz. can)light red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can(15.5-oz. can) black eyed peas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 ounces dry quick cooking barley
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ teaspoon black pepper
