Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 F.
Step 2: Grease the inside of a 2-quart casserole dish.
Step 3: In a small frypan, fry onions and bacon until lightly brown, set aside.
Step 4: Bring the bouillon to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan
Step 5: Add grits gradually, stirring with a wire whisk.
Step 6: Reduce heat and continue cooking, stirring vigorously, until mixture thickens.
Step 7: Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring often.
Step 8: Remove from heat and add Worcestershire sauce, butter, and 1½ cups of cheese, stirring until well blended.
Step 9: In a small bowl
Step 10: Blend egg yolks with ¼ cup milk.
Step 11: Pour into grits and mix thoroughly
Step 12: Add more milk if necessary, thinning to consistency of cream of wheat.
Step 13: In another, dry bowl
Step 14: Beat egg whites until stiff.
Step 15: Fold into grits.
Step 16: Fold in bacon and onions.
Step 17: Pour into prepared baking dish.
Step 18: Sprinkle with remaining ½ cup of cheese.
Step 19: Bake on middle shelf of preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until fluffy and brown
