Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 150 grams steel cut oats, (1 cup)
  • 875 ml water, (3 1/2 cups)
  • 1 red apple, large peeled and coarsely grated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Yoghurt, to serve
  • Sliced apple, to serve
  • Fresh raspberries, to serve
  • Toasted nuts and seeds, to serve
  • Maple syrup, to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Lightly grease a 3 litre slow-cooker with oil. and add the oats, water, apple and vanilla and stir to combine then add the cinnamon stick.

  • Step 2: Set the slow-cooker on low and cook for 8 hours and then once cooked remove and discard cinnamon stick and stir well and then let stand uncovered for 5 minutes.

  • Step 3: Serve with a dollop of yoghurt, sprinkled with apple, nuts and seeds and drizzled with maple syrup.
