  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1⁄2 cups water
  • 1 can (15 ounces)mixed vegetables
  • 16 ounces heavy cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a 3-quart sauce pot

  • Step 2: Melt margarine.

  • Step 3: Add flour

  • Step 4: Stir

  • Step 5: Add onion & garlic powders, and corn syrup. Simmer 1 minute.

  • Step 6: Do NOT brown.

  • Step 7: Add white pepper, salt

  • Step 8: Stir

  • Step 9: Add chicken broth, water, and vegetables.

  • Step 10: Simmer 3 minutes.

  • Step 11: Add half-and-half.

  • Step 12: Simmer until desired consistency.

  • Step 13: Stir constantly – do NOT bring to boil.

  • Step 14: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
