Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 24 ounces mushrooms (whole button mushrooms, trimmed)
  • 1 onion, sliced (small sweet onion, halved, sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (gluten free soy sauce or Bragg's liquid aminos)
  • 16 grams peanut butter (smooth natural peanut butter, 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • Green onion, diced (optional, for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non stick cooking spray before placing the mushrooms and onions in.

  • Step 2: Mix the rest of the ingredients (except for the diced green onions and sesame seeds) together in a bowl. Pour it over the mushrooms and onions.

  • Step 3: Put the lid on and cook for 5 to 6 hours on low setting.

  • Step 4: Before serving, stir the mushrooms gently while still in the sauce. Remove them with a slotted spoon. The mushrooms may then be served with toothpicks.

  • Step 5: If you like, you can also garnish the mushrooms with diced green onions and sesame seeds.
