Ingredients

The ingredients are:

  • 1 cup cornmeal

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup onions,chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper,chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic,smashed
  • 3 cans (21 ounces) tomato sauce,(7 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can (15 ounces) corn
  • 1 teaspoons salt ,to taste,(it called for a tablespoon)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder,to taste
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 can (2 ounces) black olives
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese,shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Whisk corn meal and salt into boiling water

  • Step 2: Cook until thick

  • Step 3: Add cold water and whisk

  • Step 4: In pam sprayed 9x13casserole

  • Step 5: Pour polenta in

  • Step 6: Meanwhile

  • Step 7: Cook ground beef onions and peppers

  • Step 8: Add garlic and seasonings

  • Step 9: Cook until done

  • Step 10: Add tomato sauce rinsing out cans with water add to meat

  • Step 11: Add everything else but cheese

  • Step 12: Stir

  • Step 13: Pour over polenta

  • Step 14: Bake in 350 degrees oven to 45 minutes

  • Step 15: Last 10 minutes sprinkle cheese on top
