Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking baking powder
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 2 eggs ,separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stir butter until thoroughly creamy

  • Step 2: Add sugar gradually and stir to mix well. Add well beaten yolks and cream and beat in

  • Step 3: Then sift in the flour, baking powder and salt

  • Step 4: Beat, then add stiffly beaten whites of eggs and mix in.

  • Step 5: If dough seems a little too wet, add a little more flour (the size of the eggs makes a difference).

  • Step 6: Divide the dough into about 3 lumps and roll out, one at a time.

  • Step 7: Roll dough on a floured table or board; then sprinkle all over with granulated sugar

  • Step 8: Cut with cookie cutter, or knife and bake on greased baking sheet or pans in a hot oven (425F) for about 10 minutes.
