Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup water,warm
  • 1 cup milk,scalded
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 4 cups flour
  • Topping:
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl

  • Step 2: Combine yeast and warm water until dissolved and let stand 10 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add warm milk, sugar, salt, shortening and 2 cups of the flour.

  • Step 4: Beat until smooth.

  • Step 5: Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make the dough soft.

  • Step 6: Turn out onto a floured board

  • Step 7: And knead until elastic.

  • Step 8: Add more flour if necessary.

  • Step 9: Place the dough in greased bowl and flip over so top and bottom has grease on it. Cover with towel until double in size. Divide into 15 oval shape balls

  • Step 10: And make each one about1/8-inch thick. Fry one oval at a time in the oil until golden brown and flip over to do other side.

  • Step 11: Remove from oil.

  • Step 12: Drain and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture
