Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2,5 kilograms chicken thigh fillets, trimmed
  • 1 onion, large halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 750 grams masala butter chicken simmer sauce. 2 x 375 gram jars
  • 300 ml cream, light cooking thickened cream specified
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • Coriander leaves, for garnish
  • Steamed basmati rice, to serve
  • Warm naan bread, to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine chicken, onion, ginger, and garam masala in the removable bowl of a 5.6 litre capacity slow cooker and toss well to combine and then add simmer sauce, cream and tomato paste and stir well to combine.

  • Step 2: Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 1/2 hours or until chicken is cooked and sauce has thickened.

  • Step 3: Garnish with coriander and serve with rice and naan bread.
