Step 1: Put butter in a skillet and melt it. Salt and pepper the beef liver. Put in the skillet and cook on medium for about 3 minutes on each side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Put the onion and apple into the skillet and cook until the onions are lightly browned. Stir frequently.
Step 3: Serve the apples and onion on top of the liver.
