Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crystallized ginger,minced
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 bananas ,(about 1 1/2 cup mash)
  • ½ cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: Grease or spray a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan

  • Step 3: In a small bowl,

  • Step 4: Mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda.

  • Step 5: Mix in the chocolate and the ginger.

  • Step 6: In a large bowl

  • Step 7: With an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Step 8: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla.

  • Step 9: Blend in the mashed bananas and sour cream.

  • Step 10: Switch to a wooden spoon and add the flour mixture in batches to the batter, mixing just until each addition is incorporated.

  • Step 11: At the end the batter should be barely blended (it will be thick).

  • Step 12: Pour the mixture into the loaf pan.

  • Step 13: Bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 45 minutes . ( other recipes cook longer)

  • Step 14: Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then turn the loaf out of the pan and finishing cooling
