Step 1: Preheat an oven to 400°F.
Step 2: Roll out each puff pastry sheet until it measures about 10 by 12 inches.
Step 3: Cut each pastry sheet into 12 almost-square pieces.
Step 4: Top each piece with cheese, pineappple and ham.
Step 5: Brush the edges of the pastry pieces with egg/water mixture
Step 6: Then fold each piece in half.
Step 7: Press the edges together to seal.
Step 8: Place the pasteles on a baking sheet, spacing them about 1/2 inch apart. Brush the tops with the egg mixture.
Step 9: Bake the pasteles until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
Step 10: Transfer to a plate and serve.
