Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Step 2: Grease and line a 27cm x 11.5cm x 6.5cm deep (base measurement or 8 cup capacity) loaf pan with baking paper.
Step 3: Prepare cake mix as per packet instructions. Spoon 1/3 of cake batter into the base of prepared loaf pan. Stand pears in cake batter and then spoon remaining cake batter around and over pears until covered
Step 4: Bake the loaf for 50-60 minutes or until cooked through when tested in the center with a skewer.
Step 5: Remove loaf and stand for 10 minutes before transferred loaf to a wire rack to cool.
Step 6: Dust with icing sugar and serve on its own cold or with cream or ice cream whilst warm.
