Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) tin low sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 cups potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated (optional)
  • 3/4 cup fried mushrooms (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix together the soup, milk, salt and pepper

  • Step 2: Lightly grease a 13"X9"X2" oven proof pan

  • Step 3: Place 1/3 of the potatoes in the dish, cover with 1/3 onions, drizzle with 1/3 butter, sprinkle in 1/3 flour, cover with 1/3 of the soup mixture. Repeat 2 more times ending with a layer of the soup mixture on top

  • Step 4: Bake uncovered in 350f oven for 1 1/2 hours or until the potatoes are cooked and the casserole is golden

  • Step 5: If you are topping with cheese and fried mushrooms add them to the top 15 minutes before end of baking time
