Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 113 grams dried shiitake mushrooms (finely ground, 4 dried shiitake mushrooms)
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked pepper, to taste
  • 2 (6 ounces) beef tenderloins (two 3 ounce steak tenderloin medallions)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2 shallots, peeled and sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix the salt and pepper with the mushrooms in a bowl. Add the steak, covering the whole surface with the mixture.

  • Step 2: Add the oil and butter to a cast iron pan on medium heat. Cook the steak. Both sides should be cooked to a deep brown color. Approximately six minutes on each side will be medium well. Place the steak on a plate to rest it when you're done cooking it.

  • Step 3: Next, place the shallots in the pan and cook for about two minutes to soften them. Place them on the steak before serving it.
