Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1⁄2 cup butter
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 14 ounces raw long grain rice,(2 cups)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1⁄2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1⁄2 cup basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup frozen peas

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter

  • Step 2: Saute onion until transparent.

  • Step 3: Add rice and stir constantly until it turns into a caramel color. It needs to be very brown

  • Step 4: Add turmeric,pepper and paprika

  • Step 5: Add chicken broth

  • Step 6: Add garlic powder, bay leaf ,parsley, basil and salt.

  • Step 7: Bring to a boil and

  • Step 8: Turn down to a simmer

  • Step 9: Cover and steam rice for 18 minutes.

  • Step 10: Heat peas

  • Step 11: Take out bay leaf

  • Step 12: Fluff rice

  • Step 13: Mound in cup

  • Step 14: Flip over

  • Step 15: Divide in half put peas in center
