Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 egg yolks (well beaten)
  • 3 egg whites (stiffly beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt, pinch of

How to Make

  • Step 1: Set aside about ¼ cup of the flour, to be sifted later with the baking powder.

  • Step 2: Mix rest of flour to a smooth paste with milk.

  • Step 3: Melt butter and add it to the 3 egg yolks, which have been well beaten.

  • Step 4: Beat ingredients for 2 minutes.

  • Step 5: Just prior to baking, add baking powder sifted with salt and the extra ¼ cup flour.

  • Step 6: Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.

  • Step 7: Bake on hot iron until golden brown.
