The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed, tough outer stalk peeled,cut in half
  • 8 ounces green beans, stem-end snipped
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, black if possible

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fill a large pot with water

  • Step 2: Bring to a boil.

  • Step 3: Cook the asparagus and green beans for 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Remove with a slotted spoon and drop into ice water.

  • Step 5: Remove when cold,and set aside.

  • Step 6: Combine the oils and the lemon juice in a small bowl to make vinaigrette.

  • Step 7: Mix well and season with freshly ground black pepper.

  • Step 8: Dry the cooked vegetables on paper towels.

  • Step 9: Combine the vegetables in the salad bowl.

  • Step 10: Pour vinaigrette over the beans and asparagus.

  • Step 11: Toss gently to coat.
