Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/4 cups wheat bran (unprocessed, uncooked wheat bran)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil (vegetable oil or melted butter)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup apple, finely chopped
  • 1 cup raisins (seedless dark)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak bran in hot water at least 10 minutes to soften. DRAIN WELL.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 400' F.

  • Step 3: Combine bran, milk, eggs, sugar, and oil or butter in bowl.

  • Step 4: Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves and add to batter.

  • Step 5: Stir in apples and raisins and spoon into well-greased muffin tins.

  • Step 6: Bake 25 minutes or till done. Serve hot.
