Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1.5 kilograms Golden Delicious apples (6 apples)
  • 50 grams unsalted butter, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2/3 cup pure cream
  • 1/2 x 250 g packet ginger nut biscuits (cookies)
  • Vanilla ice-cream, to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel and core apple and cut apples into quarters.

  • Step 2: Melt butter in a large, deep non-stick frying pan over a medium to high heat and add apples and sugar and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.

  • Step 3: Add cream and bring to boil and gently boil, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until apples are tender and sauce is slightly thickened.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile, place biscuits in a large, snap-lock bag and seal and gently pound with a rolling pin until coarsely crushed.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle biscuits over apples in pan and serve with vanilla ice-cream (optional).
