Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 375 gram lasagne sheets (8 fresh sheets - you can freeze the left overs))
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
  • 500 grams beef mince
  • 140 g tub tomato paste
  • 800 grams crushed tomatoes (2 x 400 gram cans)
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 x 10 gram beef stock cubes, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • Salt, to season
  • Pepper, to season
  • Parmesan, finely grated to serve (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut lasagne sheets crossways into 2cm-wide strips and gently separate strips.

  • Step 2: Heat oil in a stockpot over a medium to high heat and add onion, garlic and oregano and cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes, or until soft and then add beef and cook, stirring to break up mince, for about 5 minutes, or until browned.

  • Step 3: Stir in paste and then add tomatoes, water, stock cubes and vinegar and season, bring to boil. == and gently stir in pasta strips. and reduce heat and gently boil, covered, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes, or until pasta is cooked and sauce is slightly thickened.

  • Step 4: Remove and serve with parmesan cheese (optional) and garnish with pepper.
