Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger root
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Salt and pepper the ribs and then roast them on a rimmed baking sheet for 1 hour.

  • Step 3: While ribs are cooking make the sauce by combining the sauce ingredients (soy sauce - five-spice powder) in a saucepan over medium heat and then let simmer for 20 minutes or until sauce is reduced to 2 cups.

  • Step 4: Brush sauce over roasted ribs and then continue roasting for 20 minutes.

  • Step 5: Cut into individual ribs and sprinkle with chopped green onions if desired and serve with remaining sauce.
