Step 1: Moisten rims of glasses with a wedge of lime. Spread the kosher salt or sugar in a saucer. Dip the rims of the glasses to coat evenly with the salt or sugar.
Step 2: In a cocktail shaker with ice place the pomegranate juice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and pomegranate liqueur and agave or simple syrups (if using). Add additional ice to each glass, if needed (in case you don't want to use the ice in the shaker, and if it has dissolved some-what). Pour into the glasses and top off with club soda, if desired. Garnish with a lime wedge.
