The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lentils ,soaked overnight
  • 8 cups water
  • 8 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup onion,chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic,smashed
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak lentils overnight

  • Step 2: Next day

  • Step 3: In stockpot

  • Step 4: Heat oil add onion add garlic

  • Step 5: Add tomato paste

  • Step 6: Add water

  • Step 7: Drain lentil

  • Step 8: Add to pot

  • Step 9: Add sausage

  • Step 10: Simmer 2 hours

  • Step 11: Add water as needed

  • Step 12: In saute pan brown butter and flour

  • Step 13: Add paprika and salt and pepper dont burn

  • Step 14: Add to stockpot

  • Step 15: Simmer another 30 minutes until thickened and lentils tender
