Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 tablespoon pickling spices (tied in a cheesecloth bag)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 pound haddock fillets (frozen, thawed)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

How to Make

  • Step 1: In six quart dutch oven, bring water to a boil over high heat

  • Step 2: Add to the water, the spices in the bag bay leaves, and vinegar. Reduce heat to medium.

  • Step 3: Add fillets and cook, uncovered until fish turns white. about 2-3 minutes

  • Step 4: Remove immediately

  • Step 5: Place fillets on the broiler rack, brush with butter, and sprinkle with paprika.

  • Step 6: Broil 3 inches from broiler unit for 7-8 minutes. DO NOT TURN.

  • Step 7: Serve with lemon and butter
