Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup turbinado sugar
  • 6 cardamom pods (lightly crushed)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup liqueur (Cognac or other brandy)
  • 2 cups brewed coffee (plus 2 tablespoons, freshly brewed)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine water, sugar and cardamom In a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room tempereature. When cool, strain to remove the pieces of cardamom.

  • Step 2: In a mixer, whip the cream to soft peaks. Set aside.

  • Step 3: Place the cardamom syrup and hot coffee in a saucepan and heat. Add the brandy and stir to combine. Divide among four glasses, and top each with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
