Step 1: Combine water, sugar and cardamom In a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room tempereature. When cool, strain to remove the pieces of cardamom.
Step 2: In a mixer, whip the cream to soft peaks. Set aside.
Step 3: Place the cardamom syrup and hot coffee in a saucepan and heat. Add the brandy and stir to combine. Divide among four glasses, and top each with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
