Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • ½ pound dry wild rice (= 1 cup dry wild rice)
  • 2 Turkish bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon chicken or meat soup base
  • ½ teaspoon butter or taste
  • 3 cups water or enough to cover rice by a few inches

How to Make

  • Step 1: Rinse rice and put in large covered pot with enough water to cover it by a few inches.

  • Step 2: Add bay leaves and soup base.

  • Step 3: Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 45-55 minutes, until rice is tender and fluffy. It should be cooked very gently.

  • Step 4: Drain, then add butter.
