Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup hominy grits, cooked in 3 cups water by directions on box
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 roll Kraft garlic cheese (see below)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/8 pound butter or oleo (= ½ stick)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Hungarian paprika
  • SUBSTITUTE FOR GARLIC CHEESE ROLL:
  • 1½ pounds sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • ½ pound processed cheese product such as Velveeta
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • Garlic powder to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: To make garlic cheese roll substitute, use ingredients listed separately above. Soften cheeses and mix all together well. Shape into four rolls and wrap well in foil or plastic wrap.

  • Step 3: Add the milk, the garlic cheese substitute, the eggs, butter, salt and pepper to the cooked grits.

  • Step 4: Mix together well and put in buttered casserole.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika.

  • Step 6: Bake at 300' F. for 30 minutes.
