Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup raw quick oatmeal
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 14 ounces frozen pineapple juice
  • 12 ounces frozen blueberries
  • 12 ounces frozen blackberries
  • 12 ounces strawberries ,diced
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 allspice berries
  • 1 tablespoons orange peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon verbena leaves, fresh or dry
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemongrass leaves ,fresh or dry
  • ½ pound panela ,grated

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the oats to soak in 1 cup of water

  • Step 2: In the mean time

  • Step 3: Combine 8 cups of water, frozen pineapple juice, cinnamon, spices, and panela in a large pot.

  • Step 4: Bring to a boil

  • Step 5: Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.

  • Step 6: Add the orange peel and herbs during the last 5 minutes.

  • Step 7: Remove from heat and strain.

  • Step 8: Blend the berries, the soaked oats and 2 cups of the pineapple mix.

  • Step 9: Strain the blended mix.

  • Step 10: Mix the strained berry oat mixture with the pineapple mix, return to heat and bring to a boil.

  • Step 11: Reduce the heat and cook over low for 5 minutes.

  • Step 12: Stir in the diced strawberries.

  • Step 13: Serve warm or cold.
