Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 cups cooked fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup milk (or cream, or 1/2 cup each)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 20 ounces shrimp (peeled and devined raw shrimp, about 2 cups)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Hot sauce, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium fry pan, heat the oil ( or butter) over medium heat, then stir in the flour, constantly stir until a medium dark roux is formed ( about 20 minutes) .

  • Step 2: Then stir in the onions, garlic and parsley - cook until the onions are clear.

  • Step 3: Gradually add the milk ( or cream) and continue cooking until thickened.

  • Step 4: Add the Parmesan and cook until melted.

  • Step 5: Then stir in the shrimp, hot sauce and salt.

  • Step 6: Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3 or 4 minutes.

  • Step 7: Stir in the fettuccine, mix well and serve.
