Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups water
  • 339 grams coconut milk (canned, unsweetened , 1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 316 grams dry basmati rice (rinsed and drained, 2 cups dry)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut (toasted)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine water, coconut milk, sugar, and salt in heavy large saucepan.

  • Step 2: Bring to simmer, then stir in rice.

  • Step 3: Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 12 minutes.

  • Step 4: Keep covered, remove from the heat and let stand 10 minutes.

  • Step 5: Transfer rice to bowl and sprinkle with toasted coconut.
