Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • ½ pound butter, softened ,(2 sticks)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1/2 cup raw rolled oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/16 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups walnuts,chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F.

  • Step 2: Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar about 2 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, about 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl.

  • Step 4: Mix dry ingredients in another bowl use a whisk and mix thoroughly

  • Step 5: Add to creamed mixture

  • Step 6: Don’t overmix.

  • Step 7: By hand ,stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

  • Step 8: Portion dough with a scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.

  • Step 9: Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.

  • Step 10: Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for about 1 hour.( ok who waits an hour for hot chocolate chip cookies ?)
