Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR THE MASH:-
  • 1/2 swede
  • 100 grams butter
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • FOR THE STEAK:-
  • 120 grams lamb steak (1 lamb steak specified)
  • 2 teaspoon wholegrain mustard
  • 30 grams breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan, finely grated or cheddar if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons thyme leaves, fresh
  • Oil for frying

How to Make

  • Step 1: For the mash, peel and roughly chop the swede and boil in water until soft when tested with the point of a knife.

  • Step 2: Preheat the grill/broiler to a high heat.

  • Step 3: Massage the lamb all over with the mustard.

  • Step 4: On a plate combine the breadcrumbs, parmesan and thyme.

  • Step 5: Take the steak and roll in the breadcrumb mix so that it is evenly covered.

  • Step 6: Grill/broil the steak for six minutes on each side or until done to your liking.

  • Step 7: Drain the swede, mash with the butter and season and serve both together.
