Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 (1/2 pound) smoked pork chops
  • 1 1/2 cups potatoes, mashed
  • 384 grams sauerkraut (wine cured sauerkraut, well drained and squeezed, 1 1/2 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons honey mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 medium apple (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix the potatoes and kraut.

  • Step 2: Place half of the potato mixture on the bottom of a lightly greased oven proof dish ( Pyrex pie plate will do).

  • Step 3: Place the chop in the dish, spread the mustard on the chops, spread the apple slices over the chops, cover with remaining potato mixture.

  • Step 4: Season with salt and pepper, cut up the butter in small pieces and place on top.

  • Step 5: Seal with foil, bake in 350f oven for 45 minutes, uncover and bake a further 15 minutes allowing the potato/kraut mixture to brown nicely.
