Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 jar (16 ounce) sauerkraut
  • 1 apple ( medium cooking apple, chopped Granny Smith, e.g.)
  • Caraway seeds, pinch (to taste)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 pound knockwurst sausage (Kosher)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil knockwurst 10 minutes.

  • Step 2: Mix sauerkraut, chopped onions and apples, caraway seed, and water in skillet and heat.

  • Step 3: Cut wurst in thirds diagonally and arrange on sauerkraut mixture. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes.
