Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
  • 12 ounces shrimp (cooked, or more)
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can (20 ounce) whole tomatoes
  • 1 package (10 ounce) frozen peas (cooked, optional)
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco, or to taste
  • Rice, hot boiled

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown onions, celery and (optional) green pepper lightly in oil.

  • Step 2: Blend flour, vinegar, salt, sugar, chili powder, and Tabasco with water and add to onion/celery/green pepper mixture.

  • Step 3: Simmer uncovered 15 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add remaining ingredients and just heat.

  • Step 5: Serve over hot boiled rice.
