  • 1 cup onion, chopped

  • 1 tablespoons worcesterhire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup beer (guinness stout)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 unbaked (256 grams) pie pastry (9inch, 126 grams each)
  • Egg wash:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoons milk
  • Gravy:
  • 1 cup guinness stout
  • 1 package (1 ounce) brown gravy mix

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stew:

  • Step 2: Heat grease

  • Step 3: Add floured beef and brown

  • Step 4: Add onions

  • Step 5: Cook until caramelized

  • Step 6: Add stout and broth

  • Step 7: Add herbs and spicesand seasonings

  • Step 8: Cook 1 hour

  • Step 9: Add veggies cook until tender the sauce should be thickened

  • Step 10: Take out bay leaf

  • Step 11: Pie:

  • Step 12: Add to pie crust

  • Step 13: Top with second pie crust

  • Step 14: Brush with egg wash

  • Step 15: Bake in 350 oven 40 minutes until crust is browned

  • Step 16: 5 minutes until done

  • Step 17: Mix the gravy and beer heat until thickened, can use water if serving kids

  • Step 18: Pour over and around pie slices
