  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup dry oats (quick rolled oats)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • ¼ cup onion,minced
  • ¼ cup celery,minced
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper, minced
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper, minced
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon worcesterhire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup french-fried onions

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Step 2: In large bowl

  • Step 3: Combine egg, oats, milk, onion, celery, peppers, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic salt and pepper.

  • Step 4: Let set 10 minutes

  • Step 5: Add meat and mix well.

  • Step 6: Lightly pat mixture into an 8-by-4-by-2-inch loaf pan.

  • Step 7: Spread on ketchup

  • Step 8: Bake in preheated oven 1 hour and 15 minutes

  • Step 9: Remove from oven.

  • Step 10: Drain off any excess fat.

  • Step 11: Spread french fried onions over meatloaf, return to oven and bake another 10 minutes.

  • Step 12: Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before serving.
