Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill
  • 70 grams horseradish cream (1/4 cup)
  • Sea salt
  • Cracked black pepper
  • 240 grams rye bread (8 thin slices)
  • 275 grams sauerkraut (1 1/4 cup)
  • 40 grams pastrami (8 slices specified)
  • 200 grams Swiss cheese, sliced
  • Unsalted butter, for spreading

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix to combine the dill, horseradish cream, salt and pepper and spread on half the bread slices.

  • Step 2: Divide the sauerkraut, pastrami and Swiss cheese between the slices and sandwich with the remaining bread and lightly butter the outside of each sandwich.

  • Step 3: Cook the sandwiches, in batches, in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat for 3 minutes and turn and cook, covered, for a further 2–3 minutes or until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted.
