Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 5 grams Agar agar
  • 200 milliliters water
  • 350 grams sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon candy flavor

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine water and agar agar in a medium saucepan and heat over low until agar agar is completely dissolved.

  • Step 2: Add sugar and stir until dissolved and mixture is frothy and slightly stringy

  • Step 3: Remove from heat and add flavoring

  • Step 4: Pour the mixture into a tray (I like to use a caserole dish)

  • Step 5: You can use food coloring to tint the whole batch, or use a tooth pick to swirl drops of coloring though the mixture

  • Step 6: Chill mixture in the fridge until it has set, like firm jello

  • Step 7: Remove from tray and cut or tear into smaller pieces

  • Step 8: Let the pieces sit in an undisturbed area for three to five days to crystalize
