  • 16 cups apple cider (1 gallon)
  • 2 to 3 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (fresh is better)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Break the cinnamon sticks open and crush the cloves and allspice a bit. Grate nutmeg if necessary.

  • Step 2: Pour the cider in the pot and add spices to the percolator basket using a coffee filter to reduce sediment in the pot. For stove top or slow cooker preparation, seal cinnamon and spices in a coffee filter. Remove spice package before serving.

  • Step 3: Perk the cider or simmer it long enough to infuse flavors.

  • Step 4: Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the microwave.
