Step 1: Cook and stir bacon and onion in Dutch oven or 12 inch skillet until bacon is crisp.
Step 2: Stir in sauerkraut and brown sugar.
Step 3: Add potatoes ,carrots and apples.
Step 4: Tie juniper berries, peppercorns, cloves, parsley and bay leaf in cheesecloth bag or place in tea ball.
Step 5: Add to sauerkraut.
Step 6: Add pork chops and frankfurters.
Step 7: Pour chicken broth over meat.
Step 8: Heat to boiling.
Step 9: Reduce heat.
Step 10: Cover and simmer until meat is done and potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes.
Step 11: Remove spice bag.
Step 12: Transfer sauerkraut, potatoes, carrots and apples to large platter with slotted spoon.
Step 13: Arrange meat around edge.
