Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 8 ounces polish sausage
  • 1 cup onion,minced
  • 1 jar (2 pounds)sauerkraut, rinsed & drained
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 can(12 oz.)beer
  • 3/4 cup carrot,grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoons parsley,minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Saute bacon

  • Step 2: Add onion

  • Step 3: Cook, stirring occasionally, 4 minutes or until softened.

  • Step 4: Stir in the sauerkraut, sugar, caraway and polish sausage, beer.

  • Step 5: Bring to boiling.

  • Step 6: Lower heat; simmer, partially covered, 1 hour.

  • Step 7: Add carrot.

  • Step 8: Simmer, partially covered, 30 minutes longer.

  • Step 9: If mixture is too wet, raise heat slightly; cook, uncovered, a little longer.

  • Step 10: Add salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 11: Sprinkle with parsley.
