Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar ,packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup apples,minced, peeled
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoons cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pre-heat your oven to 350°f.

  • Step 2: In a bowl

  • Step 3: Sift all dry ingredients together flour, baking powder, salt and spices.

  • Step 4: In another large bowl

  • Step 5: Cream butter and brown sugar

  • Step 6: Add vanilla and eggs.

  • Step 7: Add apples(or other fruit )

  • Step 8: Alternate dry and buttermilk into wet ingredients.

  • Step 9: Turn out on to a floured surface bring together

  • Step 10: Without over kneading.

  • Step 11: Add flour while kneading if dough is sticky.

  • Step 12: Roll dough out

  • Step 13: To an inch thick.

  • Step 14: Use a cookie cutter to cut out

  • Step 15: And place on a parchment or silicon lined baking sheet.

  • Step 16: Bake 350°f

  • Step 17: For 12-15 minutes.

  • Step 18: Until bottoms begin to brown.

  • Step 19: When warm you can run them through th cinnamon sugar if you wish
