Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups molasses
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 ounces sour cream (1 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 4 cups flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter and molasses together

  • Step 2: Add three or four cups of flour(start with the smaller amount go higher)

  • Step 3: Then add sugar, cloves, and half the sour cream.

  • Step 4: Put in the rest of the cream when you have dissolved the saleratus(baking soda) in it.

  • Step 5: Then take enough more flour to make it about as thick as tea cakes.

  • Step 6: Stir it 10 or 15 minutes,(this was by hand)

  • Step 7: Add the currants,

  • Step 8: And bake it in pans like cup cake.(grease that puppy ,spray pam)

  • Step 9: 350 for 20 minutes im guessing(watch so doesnt burn )
